Albers · Overview
Josef Albers, german born, early career was spent teaching at Bauhaus. Emigrated to the US in 33, where he first taught at Black Mountain (teaching asawa and rauschenberg, who we'll touch on later in this series). He went on to develop the graphic design program at Yale in the 50s. Once quoted saying "color deceives continually". To test this, we'll be generating an homage to his series 'Homage to the Square.' 3-4 nested squares. Each composition is a perceptual experiment about how adjacent colors push and pull on each other.
